Goalz and Gainz

As I set in church this morning and listened to the second week of the themed lesson - The Search For Happiness - and it being the first Sunday of the 2019 year, it has me really thinking about what I want to accomplish this year. And honestly, isn’t happiness ultimately what we’re constantly desiring and longing/searching for?! Naturally we all start the year off thinking about our “resolutions” and what changes we want to take place. Looking back I’ve always set new year’s resolutions and I feel like the pressure from the whole “New Year's Resolutions” epidemic is often a quick path to failure. I’ve told my family and my clients that we're going to change that to something attainable and less “scary” and instead of calling it resolutions, we’re gonna call it “goalz and gainz”. So in lieu of no more resolutions but instead “goalz and gainz” and the scientifically proven fact that putting it down on paper ups your chances of success, here’s what I’d like to see happen in 2019:

1. I truly need to get all aspects of my life aligned with God’s perfect will and word. I need to be living and exemplifying God’s standards. 2. And in doing the above, I need to eat according to what fuels the body...coincidently what God intended us to eat. I need to consume ONLY foods that are production of animal and earth: meat, fruits, veggies, nuts, dairy, grains. Nothing processed. 3. The body is a temple. I need to take prime care of it because it’s the only place I have to live. With this in mind, after proper shoulder surgery recovery, I hope to be able to transition into some bodybuilding. Now, with that being said, I am not (ever) quitting powerlifting. It’s my fitness love! I realize that it may be a slower process, but I want to gain strength and lose about 20/25 pounds. I want to do what most people in the fitness industry feel is impossible. Plus, I plan to continue to build a kicka** frame that will guarantee that once the fat “falls“ off, there’s nothing but muscle and definition. 4. As a trainer, I want to insure that my clients surpass their goals. Meaning, like most people, my awesome ladies often undermine their true potential, so whatever their goals are, they will accomplish not only those, but also push themselves to what I KNOW they’re capable of.

Regardless of what happens, I want 2019 to be a year of success for everyone (family, clients, my students, friends, even current strangers) that crosses my path. If you are or become a part of my life, this 2019 year we WILL dig deep and get to the core of what we’re capable of...were going to reach more goalz and gainz than possible excuses that could be made. We’re all on this earth for a purpose. What’s yours? Please share what goalz and gainz you wish to reach/accomplish in 2019?!
